Buying the house you want in today’s market can be very challenging.  Home prices have dropped significantly from the highs of 2006 and 2007, while interest rates have dropped to 40 year lows.  These two factors have combined to make this a very competitive market.  Buyers need to have their financing ready to go before they start making offers on properties.  Therefore, the buying process begins with the pre-qualification of the buyers.  Buyers need to know what they can qualify to buy and what payment they will be comfortable with making each month.  These two values are not always the same.  A buyer may qualify to buy a $400,000 home but might not be comfortable with the payment that comes with that purchase price.
